Mask Reality, Create Fantasia - Photoshop Fantasia

Idea
For an advertisement to work, it must create a strong visual impact, which will then make you rethink on the advertisement, after you went past it. Advertisement, in my opinion, equals to answering needs, therefore in this advertisement concept, I focussed on the concept of escapism.

The future is most probably one that is fast and rapid moving, and beneath that, truthfully speaking, the connotations of harsh and a future or reality where only the fittest survives.

With Photoshop, we can fulfill our needs for escapism from the harsh reality and tough competition. To draw us away from the corporate ladder-race, and all competitions, Photoshop can be our avenue to create our very own fantasy world(imaginary) where there's less competitions, more of love, fun and peace and that's the world that I can escape to. As the world goes faster and progresses rapidly, there exists a need to escape and withdraw ourselves from real life at times neccessary to keep our sanity.

The illustration therefore portrays a fantasy/magical imagination driven realm, a time and space created with Photoshop where there's peace, love, nature, magic and fun.

Mask Reality, Creaty Fantasy. We all have that quest for fantasy within us and definitely the need to escape from the harsh reality, even if the escape is momentary. And Photoshop will answer that need within us.

Choice of Elements(Symbolism of elements)
- The use of ladybirds is a symbolic representative of love, multiply(the flourish and continuity of life) and the idea of layers(one on top of the other).
- The use of the rubber ducks symbolise fun and joy, and being young at heart. It is also part of the idea of fantasy, unreal. It is also a imagery expression of the transformation/scale tool.
- The magic wand, which is also a tool in Photoshop, symbolises the magic of Photoshop and how it brought our imagination to life.
- The child in the image symbolises youth, which is a age that imagination flourishes and the ease and user-friendliness of Photoshop that a child can pick up easily. And we are have a child's wish for fun, fantasy and peace, we all have that bit of a child within us.
- The buildings in the background represents reality, to emphasis on the idea of escapism. This is the future.
- As for the plants and hummingbird, they represent nature and peace.
- Overall, it is a fantasy scene, a fictitious one(since there are swimming rubber ducks). Photoshop can create fantasy.

The Process
Spent a total of approximately 10 hours in the initial composition process. Heavy manipulation/illustrations and adjustments to images used. The magic wand and water are 100% photoshopped. Only Photoshop used. Over 10 edits and changes over 4 weeks.
